Hi everyone! Looking for some guidance on applications this cycle. Here are my stats:
Major: Psychology
cGPA: 3.77
sGPA: 3.54
MCAT: 507 (126/124/127/130)
State of Residence: IA
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Undergrad: large public university
Clinical Experience: ~400 hours of clinical volunteering
Research Experience and Productivity: ~500 hours in a psych lab (no posters or pubs)
Shadowing experience: ~30 hours (split pretty evenly between psych/ENT/surgery/family med/radiology)
Non-clinical volunteering: ~120 hours at a nursing home, ~50 hours at an animal shelter
Other extracurriculars: peer tutor for my college's english department for 4 years (probably around ~400 hours & took on multiple leadership positions)
Right now, I'm concerned about the discrepancy between my science gpa and cumulative gpa. My science GPA trend is pretty uneven (4.00, 3.85, 2.73, 3.13, 3.57, 3.00, 4.00, 3.83, 3.65), though my cumulative trend is more stable. Got a C my third semester during COVID, but since then I haven't gotten any grade below a B. Still, I'm worried my below average/uneven science gpa and my 124 on B/B is not going to be looked upon very favorably. Any advice is appreciated!
