Jasmine,
As with any profession salaries vary depending on education, experience, geographic location and specialty. Nurse practitioners are very seldom paid by the "hour". Most NPs work for a base annual salary and bonuses based on productivity. Starting salaries vary from 55K to 60K and quickly rise to the classic "glass ceiling" of about 70-75K within five or so years. Some NPs in specialty areas can make as much as 100K, but the responsibilities and committments increase accordingly.
