And all neuro folks out there...
I've got a question on neurology fellowships, in particular neuro intensive care. My fiance is set on pursuing neurology, and plans to do a residency here with me. However, he is an Australian MD and so will enter on a J-1. If you enter on a J-1 to do a residency, and your residency is 4 years, can you finish up your fellowship on the same visa (the J-1 is for a maximum of 7 years)?
I've been told by international MDs I've met that this is not possible.
If so, what are the options for pursuing a fellowship abroad, say in the UK? Does Queen Square etc. have critical care fellowships? What UK institutions offer fellowships in this field? I've also heard from that Germany is a great place for NIC. is this true?
Thanks in advance for all replies.
