Was wondering if anyone has any info on how residency admissions work at BIDMC (or other similarly academic programs).
Looking at their website, it looks like BIDMC has less residents coming from top med schools (which is nice for me, coming from a lowrr tier state school), but I was curious: are many publications expected? AOA? 260+ step 2? I imagine high clinical grades are needed, but am curious how competitive BIDMC/other top neuro residencies are.
I am specifically wondering if abtracts/clinical publications are “ok” instead of full on basic science publications, and whether higher-than-previous Step 2 scores will be needed since Step 1 is P/F.
Are they basically as competitive as X surgical subspecialty?
