What do you recommend to improve the science GPA for Physical Therapy programs?

Asked 6 months ago by Guest (140 points)

I want to go to PT school, and I graduated in engineering with a 3.3 overall but only a 2.98 in science/pre-req courses. This stems almost entirely from poor performance in chemistry and physics early in my college career (a few B's, no A's and mostly C's). I'm a frankly better student now than I was then, and I know if I re-took these courses I'd get all A's.

First of all, is it worth it to try and retake everything? Do schools notice that, or do you think it's better to go into some kind of postbacc GPA enhancement program and take higher level science courses as a way to prove to admissions people that I'm ready? I know I can handle a PT school courseload and I know it's what I want to do, but I feel like my failures as an 18 and 19 year old are going to come back to bite me if I apply now rather than doing something about it.
