EPPP Part 2 - Clarification of Concern

Asked 10 months ago by Guest (120 points)

I am currently in my last year of graduate school in my PhD program, with internship year to follow. My program uses the EPPP as Quals with the minimum requirement as passing at the Masters level. I took the test in the summer of 2017 and I passed at the doctoral level. I believed, as I had been assured by faculty, that I "would never have to take it again" at that time.

Now that the EPPP Part 2 has been introduced and planned for release in Jan 2020, I am worried that it will be implemented before I have completed internship. I'll be applying this Fall and intend to start my internship in the summer of 2019 with completion the following summer in 2020.

My question is: will I be required to take the EPPP Part 2 even if I have passed at the doctoral level previously? Or would I need to have attained full doctoral licensure before the introduction of Part 2? (which will obviously be impossible) The ASBBP website does not cover this information/situation as far as I have found.

(Note: Our Director of Clinic Training (who has recently taken this position) is doubtful that the Part 2 will be released on time, I would rather be certain of what I do or don't need to do.)
